Water Meter Replacement Program

In an ongoing effort by the East Brookfield Water Dept. to improve the quality,consistincy,and safety of the water you consume,the East Brookfield Water Dept. is initiating a town wide water meter replacement program.

We will be performing this mandatory replacement of all water meters in town to:

•     Improve the efficiency of meter reading and water billing.
•     Efficient recording of pumped water versus billed water,reducing water loss.    
•      Ability to eliminate the flat rate billing structure.

 The replacement of water meters is required due to their age.The average accurate lifespan of a household water meter is 12 - 15 years after which the accuracy of the meter can diminish.It is important for a sustainable department to accurately meter the product it distributes.

 In most cases the replacement of your meter will take approximately one hour.
