East Brookfield is a “Pay As You Throw” community and supports vigorous recycling efforts.  Solid waste is collected weekly, at the curbside, for subscribing residents and small business.  All trash must be placed in approved “blue” bags, available in packages of 10 for $20.00.  Bags may be purchased at Howe Lumber on 225 West Main St, EB Mobil Mart on 134 West Main St, Cumberland Farms on 550 East Main St, and the Depot Square Deli  on 104 Pleasant St.  The Town appreciates the cooperation of these local businesses since they make no profit on the sale of these bags.
