MV ABATEMENT APPLICATION

To qualify for an abatement of your Motor Vehicle Excise Tax, you need to have canceled or transferred the registration (plate) AND have sold, traded, gifted or otherwise lost or given up possession of the old vehicle.  Please provide copies of the Bill of Sale/Trade in Documents/Junkyard Receipt/Donation Letter.  PLEASE NOTE: In most cases, the excise tax must be paid in full before an abatement can be issued.
