ASSESSORS OFFICE INSPECTIONS

The Assessor’s Office conducts cyclical, building permit and sales inspections during the warmer months of the year.  Cyclical inspections are required by the DOR to verify and update our existing data; building permit inspections ensure the proper valuation of your property due to changes you have made on the basis of permits you’ve obtained; and sales inspections are conducted to reconcile the purchase price of your property with the current assessed value and make note of any discrepancies in the data.

I drive a white Prius, plate #2AV654, wear a town ID badge and am on record with the Police Department.  I will ring your doorbell and/or knock on the door to let you know when I arrive.  If there is no answer, I will conduct the exterior portion of the inspection and leave a door hanger asking you to return my call. If you are home, I will be asking to verify the interior of the property.
