Thomas Farm

This home and barn is referred to by locals as the “Thomas Farm.” It is located at 842 Podunk Road. The date of the photo is unclear but it appears that it was taken prior to the availability of electricity.
Percival and Hatty Thomas purchased the farm in the early 1920’s from “Grammy Wheelock”, actual name unknown.
It is believed that the home was built around 1790 by the Hobb Family as a salt box style. Approximately 1830 the home received a major addition and was converted to a colonial style. The barn across the street was added in 1812 and is now owned by Mr. Richard Chaffee.

2010 Amy Casey, a descendent of the Thomas Family, is the current owner. Amy always admired the home and eventually purchased the property in 2007 from the Thomas Estate. It had been closed for 11 years after the passing of John and Idella Thomas. The home is currently going through a complete and loving renovation to return it to its former glory. It is Amy’s dream to someday operate a Bed and Breakfast at this site.
