Then and Now
Main Street Looking East from North Street

1910 (Approximate) A view of Main Street looking east from North Street. Today, most of the trees are gone, and the Baptist Church, hidden by the trees, can be clearly seen from this vantage point. Many of these homes still exist today. The fourth house from the left (today it is gray), on the westbound side of Main Street and the corner of present-day Maple Street, is the birthplace of baseball legend player/manager Cornelius McGillicuddy, or “Connie Mack”, East Brookfield’s most famous native.

Sept 2005 A widened and paved highway means removal of many trees on both sides of the road. The Baptist Church and the birthplace of "Connie Mack" can easily be seen.
